The Clean-Luxury Hotels of Palm Beach County

Seven hotels from Jupiter to Boca Raton, chosen for what they publish about their spas, kitchens, water and footprint, and, where a hotel holds one, for the certification or verification we could confirm on the certifier's own records.

The Clean-Luxury Hotels of Palm Beach County

We choose from published evidence: what hotels publish about themselves, guidebooks such as the MICHELIN Guide and Forbes Travel Guide, and certifiers' public records. We have not stayed at, eaten at or visited any of these hotels for this piece, so nothing here is a first-hand account. No hotel hosted us or gave us a media rate, and this piece contains no affiliate links. Rates, hours and seasons change, so check with each hotel before you book.

Last checked: October 19, 2026.

Palm Beach County runs down the Atlantic from Jupiter to Boca Raton. Along its coast and just inland are a 1920s resort that now holds five hotels, a pink hotel near Worth Avenue, a golf resort with mineral pools, and two beach hotels that appear on the state's active green-lodging list.

"Clean luxury," for this guide, means hotels that publish specifics: a certification we can look up, a refill station in place of plastic bottles, a spa that names its products, a kitchen that names its suppliers. Where a hotel makes a claim, we name it as theirs. A spa brand is not a certification, and we have not checked the ingredient lists of any product named here. We have not yet given any of these hotels a Clean Score. That needs written answers from each hotel, which we have not yet requested.

How we checked certifications. On October 19, 2026, we searched the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's list of active Florida Green Lodging properties for every hotel in Palm Beach County 1. Of the seven hotels this guide covers in full, only two appear on it: Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa and Opal Grand. The others may well do good work, but they do not appear on that list, so we do not credit them with the designation.

Already on our pages. The Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach, The Breakers and Amrit Ocean Resort are covered in A Clean-Luxury Weekend in Palm Beach. In brief: of those three, the Four Seasons publishes the most detailed sustainability statement, and it appears at the Three Palm level on the state's Green Lodging list 1. The Breakers' spa offers Tata Harper treatments, and Amrit, on Singer Island, is a resort built around wellness. The seven hotels below are new to our pages. They run north to south.

Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens

Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa

5 North A1A, on the beach in Jupiter, at the north end of the county 12.

The most northerly hotel here, and, besides the Four Seasons, the only Palm Beach County property at the Three Palm level on the state's active Green Lodging list 1. The Florida DEP's list of active Green Lodging properties shows the resort at the Three Palm level, first designated in July 2008 and last renewed in September 2021 1. We checked the list on October 19, 2026. The resort's own website does not mention the designation, and the renewal date is five years old, so ask the hotel whether its level is current.

The resort has 175 rooms and suites, all newly renovated, the hotel says, with private balconies 2. Its Opal Spa says it does not use animal-tested products, and that it recycles and uses "recycled, bulk and local products when possible" 3. The spa does not name a cruelty-free certifier, so "not animal-tested" is the spa's own statement. The spa also says it uses botanically based products and keeps a eucalyptus steam room in its locker rooms 3. It does not name the skincare lines it uses, so ask if that matters to you. The spa is for guests 18 and over, or 16 and over with a parent, and it suggests booking two weeks ahead 3.

  • Ratings. Not listed by the MICHELIN Guide or Forbes Travel Guide as of October 19, 2026.
  • Price. Rates vary by date and season; check with the hotel.

PGA National Resort

400 Avenue of the Champions, Palm Beach Gardens, inland 4.

The one hotel here well inland, and the one to consider if a spa matters more to you than the sand. The MICHELIN Guide lists the resort, without a Key, and describes 339 rooms, six championship golf courses, a racquet club and a 40,000-square-foot spa 4.

The spa's pools, which it calls Waters of the World, include a heated pool, a whirlpool, a heated Dead Sea pool and a salt and mineral pool that the spa says uses salt crystals from Salies-de-Béarn, in France 6. The spa's product page names Mālie, a Hawaiian brand whose spa products the page describes as organic, and BABOR, one of whose face creams it lists as made in Germany 5. "Organic" is the spa's description, and we have not checked a certification. The resort does not publish a sustainability page that we could find, and it is not on the state's Green Lodging list 1.

  • Spa note. Hot and high-salt pools are not for everyone. If you are pregnant or have a health condition, ask your doctor and the spa before you book.
  • Ratings. MICHELIN Guide: listed, no Key 4. No Forbes Travel Guide listing found.
  • Price. Rates vary by date and season; check with the hotel.

Palm Beach

The Colony

155 Hammon Avenue, just off A1A, minutes from the beach and Worth Avenue 78.

The pink hotel of Palm Beach, open since 1947 and restored by its current owners with Kemble Interiors, according to the MICHELIN Guide, which gives it One MICHELIN Key 7. Forbes Travel Guide lists it as Recommended and counts 89 rooms 8.

Of the seven hotels here, it is the only one we found that names the maker of its in-room bath products. The Colony says its shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, liquid soap and body lotion are bottled exclusively for the hotel by LAFCO New York and made in Italy, in the hotel's signature scent, Pink Paradise 910. That is a fragranced line by design. If you prefer unscented products, ask the hotel before you arrive. Forbes adds that the Goop Villa's bathrooms are stocked with goop skincare and body products 8. The hotel's spa partner is Naturopathica, which offers facials and massages from a Spa Suite at the hotel 10.

Getting around is easy without a car. Guests can borrow the hotel's beach cruisers for free, with bike maps, and the house car is a Volvo XC90 plug-in hybrid that takes guests around the island within set boundaries 9. The Colony does not publish a sustainability statement that we could find, and it is not on the state's Green Lodging list 1.

  • Ratings. One MICHELIN Key 7; Forbes Travel Guide Recommended 8. Both checked October 19, 2026.
  • Price. Rates vary by date and season; check with the hotel.

White Elephant Palm Beach

280 Sunset Avenue, in the historic center of the island, a short walk or van ride from the beach 1113.

The Nantucket hotel's Palm Beach sister has just 32 rooms, 13 deluxe rooms and 19 suites, in a building from 1924 12. The MICHELIN Guide gives it One MICHELIN Key and notes a palm-lined courtyard pool, a shuttle to the town's public beach, and Lola 41, a restaurant that also comes from Nantucket 11.

What it publishes is about getting around and what's included, not about sourcing. The hotel says it charges no resort fees, lends bicycles for free, offers a courtesy car to Worth Avenue and the local beaches and a courtesy beach van, both based on availability, and provides beach chairs, towels and umbrellas 13. For families, it lists organic kids' bath amenities 13; "organic" is the hotel's word, and it does not name the brand. It does not name its adult bath products or publish a sustainability statement, and it is not on the state's Green Lodging list 1.

  • Ratings. One MICHELIN Key, checked October 19, 2026 11. No Forbes Travel Guide listing found.
  • Price. Rates vary by date and season; check with the hotel.

South of the island

Eau Resort & Spa

100 South Ocean Boulevard, Manalapan, at the south end of the Palm Beach barrier island, about 12 miles from Palm Beach International Airport 18.

A large spa resort on the beach. The hotel has 309 rooms 14 on what it describes as seven acres of private coastline 15. Its Eau Spa covers 42,000 square feet and includes a garden with a central dipping pool. The spa says its menus change with the seasons and that it is open to visitors who are not staying at the resort, by reservation 16. The MICHELIN Guide lists the hotel, without a Key, and calls the spa "a standout feature" 14.

For a clean-luxury reader, Eau publishes little. The spa does not name the skincare lines it uses. We found no sustainability page, and the resort is not on the state's Green Lodging list 1. The hotel describes its steakhouse, Angle, as "reimagining farm-to-fork" with local seafood, and says the spa café serves fresh, seasonal dishes 1916; it does not name suppliers. The resort charges no resort fee, it says, and lists beach chairs and umbrellas, bicycle rentals and non-motorized water sports among the amenities included in a stay 17.

  • Ratings. MICHELIN Guide: listed, no Key 14. No Forbes Travel Guide listing found.
  • Price. Rates vary by date and season; check with the hotel.

Opal Grand Oceanfront Resort & Spa

10 North Ocean Boulevard, Delray Beach, steps from the ocean on Atlantic Avenue, the hotel says 2021.

The second hotel here on the state's active Green Lodging list. The Florida DEP lists Opal Grand at the One Palm level, first designated in July 2008 and last renewed in July 2023, with 277 rooms 1. We checked the list on October 19, 2026. The hotel's website does not mention the designation, and the last renewal is more than three years old, so ask the hotel whether its level is current.

The spa is the draw. The Tammy Fender Holistic Spa is the esthetician's own two-story, 8,000-square-foot spa on the hotel's lobby level, built around her own holistic skincare formulations, which the spa says she makes from plants 21. In its policies, the spa says it provides "all Eco-Friendly linens" 21, without naming a standard. The spa facilities are for guests 18 and over without an adult; hair and nail services are open to younger guests with an adult 21.

The hotel's home page lists, under "Delray Beach," "Awarded Blue Flag Designation Four Years Running" 20. Blue Flag is an international award for beaches, marinas and tourism boats, not for hotels 22, so the flag belongs to the city's public beach, not to the hotel. Blue Flag USA, the program's national operator, lists Delray Beach Municipal Beach, between Casuarina Road and Laing Street, among three US beaches flying the flag for the 2026 season, from May 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027, its fourth season in a row 41. We checked on October 19, 2026.

  • Ratings. Not listed by the MICHELIN Guide or Forbes Travel Guide as of October 19, 2026.
  • Price. Rates vary by date and season; check with the hotel.

The Boca Raton: Beach Club, Yacht Club and Tower

501 East Camino Real, Boca Raton; the Beach Club, a short shuttle or water-taxi ride away, is at 900 South Ocean Boulevard 2325.

Of the seven, this is the hotel that publishes the most about how it runs, of what we could find, and the only one whose sustainability verification we could see on a guidebook's own pages. The estate opened in 1926 to designs by Addison Mizner, was renovated in 2022, and now holds five hotels on 200 acres 26. Three of them are the ones to know for this guide.

The resort says the Yacht Club, Beach Club and Tower are Responsible Hospitality Verified, and describes this as the sustainability verification Forbes Travel Guide recognizes for its rated hotels 23. Forbes Travel Guide, which runs the program, carries the Responsible Hospitality Verified badge on its pages for all three hotels and lists all three in its directory of verified properties 25262742. We checked them on October 19, 2026. The resort does not name the Cloister, its original hotel, among the three, and the Cloister is not in the directory 42. On water, the resort says every guest gets a reusable bottle to fill at refill stations around the property, and that Beach Club rooms have a filtration system at the wet bar 23. On food, it says the kitchens have bought from local fishermen for nearly a decade, and that its honey comes from BeeMade Honey in Palm City, which also moved a hive of about 500 bees from a kapok tree on the grounds 23.

  • Beach Club. Forbes Travel Guide rates it Five-Star and describes half a mile of private beach, reached from the main resort by shuttle or water taxi 25.
  • Yacht Club. Adults only, all suites, on Lake Boca Raton. Forbes Travel Guide rates it Five-Star 26, and its top-floor restaurant, Flybridge, for Yacht Club guests and members, is also Five-Star 29. The MICHELIN Guide lists 112 suites and a seasonal tasting menu at Flybridge 31.
  • Tower. The 27-story Tower has 224 rooms and was renovated in 2022 by Rockwell Group 2730. Forbes Travel Guide rates it Four-Star 27, and the MICHELIN Guide gives it One MICHELIN Key 30.
  • Spa Palmera. A 50,000-square-foot spa modeled on the Alhambra, with 44 treatment rooms, a sauna, steam and inhalation rooms and ritual baths 24. Forbes Travel Guide rates it Five-Star 28. It is open daily from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm, for resort guests and club members only; under-16s are not allowed, and the ritual baths are for those 18 and over 24. The spa does not name its skincare lines. Steam rooms, saunas and hot baths are not for everyone; if you are pregnant or have a health condition, ask your doctor and the spa before you book.
  • Note. The resort's restaurants are for guests and club members only 27.
  • Ratings. Forbes Travel Guide, checked October 19, 2026: Beach Club, Yacht Club, Spa Palmera and Flybridge Five-Star; Tower Four-Star 2526272829. MICHELIN Guide: Tower One Key; Yacht Club listed, no Key 3031.
  • Getting there. Forbes Travel Guide puts Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale airports each 30 to 40 minutes from the Tower 27.
  • Price. Rates vary by date and season; check with the hotel.

Also on the guidebooks' lists

These hotels are in the MICHELIN Guide's Palm Beach selection 40, but we could not find enough published detail on their spas, sourcing or footprint to give them a full entry. We may add them if they publish more about these things.

  • The Vineta Hotel, 363 Cocoanut Row, Palm Beach. The MICHELIN Guide gives it Two MICHELIN Keys and says it is the Oetker group's first American hotel, with 41 rooms 32. We could not open the hotel's own website.
  • The Brazilian Court, 301 Australian Avenue, Palm Beach. Listed by the MICHELIN Guide, without a Key, with 80 rooms around courtyards 33; the hotel's restaurant is Daniel Boulud's Café Boulud 34.
  • Palm House, 160 Royal Palm Way, Palm Beach. One MICHELIN Key, 79 rooms 35.
  • The Seagate, Delray Beach. Listed by the MICHELIN Guide, without a Key, which says it finished a $55 million overhaul in late 2025 and has an 8,000-square-foot spa 36.

Before you go

  • Beaches. Swim only where and when lifeguards are on duty, near a lifeguard stand, and follow the warning flags. Ask your hotel which beaches nearby are guarded and when.
  • Hurricane season in the Atlantic runs from June 1 to November 30 37. For a fall stay, watch the forecast and read each hotel's cancellation terms when you book.
  • Sea turtle nesting season here runs from March 1 to October 31 38. Keep lights off the beach at night, fill in any holes you dig, and take chairs home at the end of the day 38. Do not touch or disturb turtles, hatchlings or marked nests; report a turtle in trouble to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Wildlife Alert line, 888-404-3922 39.
  • Spas at The Boca Raton are for guests and members only; Eau's spa takes outside visitors by reservation 2416. Book treatments when you book the room. Steam rooms, saunas, whirlpools and hot or mineral pools are hot or high in salt by design; if you are pregnant or have a health condition, ask your doctor and the spa before you book.
  • If you have allergies or sensitivities, contact the hotel directly before you book, ask for unscented bath products if you need them, and talk to your doctor if you have questions about your health.

The short version

  • For a published sustainability program: The Boca Raton, whose Beach Club, Yacht Club and Tower carry Forbes Travel Guide's Responsible Hospitality Verified badge 23252627.
  • For a state green-lodging designation: Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa (Three Palm) and Opal Grand (One Palm), both confirmed on the Florida DEP's active list on October 19, 2026 1; their last renewals date from 2021 and 2023, so ask each hotel whether its level is current.
  • For a spa: Tammy Fender's own spa at Opal Grand 21, Spa Palmera at The Boca Raton 2428, Eau Spa 16, or the mineral pools at PGA National 6.
  • For a small hotel in town: The Colony, which names its bath products 9, or White Elephant, with free bikes and a beach van 13.
  • Every claim about a hotel is that hotel's own, a named guidebook's or a named public registry's. We have not stayed at any of them for this piece.
